All about Souderton

What is now Souderton got its start when Henry O. Souder convinced the Philadelphia, Easton and Water Gap Railroad to build a rail line through what was then a quiet part of Franconia Township. It became a commercial center where farming families could come for supplies, socializing and entertainment. Business such as factories, lumber yards and textile mills were established.

Moyer played for the Chicago Cubs, Texas Rangers, St. Louis Cardinals, Detroit Tigers, Baltimore Orioles, Boston Red Sox, Seattle Mariners, Philadelphia Phillies and Colorado Rockies. In his final season in 2012, Moyer became the oldest pitcher in MLB history to win a game and get an RBI. He made the All-Star Team in 2003, won many awards for community service, including the Roberto Clemente and Lou Gehrig Awards, and is a member of the Mariners Hall of Fame.
