Well, we’re off to an interesting start in 2018, with temperatures swinging from the mid-30s to record sub-zero lows and back again inside of two weeks. We even had a “bomb cyclone” – perhaps as a sequel to the “pollen vortex” of last spring. As always, our crews have been working around the clock to keep you safe and warm in these challenging conditions.
The good news is we appear to have made it through the worst of the first push of 2018 weather. The not so good news is that we’re just under halfway through the winter, with more cold nights on the horizon.
The most important takeaway in all of this could be that it reminds us how incredibly unpredictable our weather has become; when conditions can change that much that quickly, it’s more important than ever to be prepared.
That’s why we’ve put together this Q&A for Cold Weather Emergencies, which summarizes some of the most important information you’ll need during dangerous winter weather. It’s also why we spend so much time on this blog talking about the importance of routine heating system tune-ups to keep your equipment running reliably – and why we so strongly suggest signing up for Automatic Delivery to help you prevent dangerous unexpected fuel run-outs.
The bottom line: in today’s world of unpredictable weather, it pays to be ready for anything. Let us know how we can help you do that in the months ahead.
