Q: When is the best time to get a heating tune-up?

A: You can schedule a heating tune-up at any time of the year except between September 1 and November 30. These are our “blackout” dates for tune-ups because this is the time of year when our phones ring off the hook with no-heat calls.

Since heat outages in cold temperatures can pose real risks, we need to keep our service schedule as flexible as possible so we can respond to these emergencies quickly.

We can schedule tune-ups up to a year in advance, so you can set up your tune-up for next spring if you like. And mid-winter is also a perfectly fine time for a tune-up. These days, tune-ups take less time because the ultra-low sulfur heating oil we deliver leaves far fewer deposits like ash inside your system.
