Q: How long does a furnace usually last?
A: The average life span of a residential furnace ranges from 12 to 15 years. This can be extended if the equipment has been maintained properly. However, if your equipment is more than 15 years old, it has a much lower efficiency rating than the systems of today and probably uses a lot more fuel than a new one would use. We would be happy to tell you more about today’s heating systems — including super-efficient furnaces and heat pumps from Lennox. Please see our special offer on the enclosed flyer.
