End of summer

With only a few precious weeks left in summer, many of us are looking forward to the changing of the (weather) guard. Autumn can be a glorious season, with comfortably warm days and pleasantly cool evenings. But it’s also a reminder that winter is not too far away. Will you be prepared if Bucks and Montgomery counties get locked into weeks of bitter cold weather the way we did last year?

The best way to be sure of your family’s comfort is to get your heating system tuned up before winter arrives. A tune-up ensures that your equipment will operate at peak efficiency and use less fuel, while keeping your home comfortable. Regular maintenance also reduces the risk of breakdowns.

Besides taking care of your heating equipment, there are other smart ways to keep your home comfortable and lower your energy costs. Talk with us about popular programs like payment plans, service plans and automatic delivery service.

As far as do-it-yourself tips, we recommend checking the weatherstripping around windows and doors and re-caulking if necessary to stop warm air from escaping your home.

Once you start using your heating system, you can reverse the spin direction of ceiling fans so warm air circulates better. You’ll be able to lower your thermostat setting and still feel comfortable. You can also open the blinds on south-facing windows to let sunlight warm your home during the day. At night, close your blinds to hold in the heat and keep out the cold.

Whatever winter brings, rest assured that we’ll take care of it. Our team is here for you and committed to keeping you warm and comfortable.
