There’s nothing quite like the feel of a floor warmed by radiant heat. In a radiant heat system, heat is transferred from hot water that is pumped through tubes installed in the floor. Radiant heat is more efficient than baseboard or forced air heating. And because no air is blown in the heating process, hydronic radiant heat is also a good option for people with allergies.
Radiant heat is versatile; the water for the system can be heated with a standard oil-fired boiler, with propane or with a solar water heater.
